General Requirements and Procedures

The Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services facilitates the clearance and accreditation of foreign journalists and media practitioners.

Clearance Required Before Travelling: Do not travel until you have received the clearance letter. Clearance usually takes about 30 working days.

Clearance Letter Required for Issuance of Visas: Present the clearance letter at the Embassy or port of entry for visa issuance.

Zimbabwe Media Commission Accreditation: Visit the Zimbabwe Media Commission for accreditation on a project basis. Requirements include two passport size photos and fees. Special accreditation fees apply based on region.

Temporary Import Permit Guarantees: Media organisations must guarantee the re-exportation of equipment with the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority.

Equipment Clearance and Licensing: Obtain clearance and licensing from the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe for video-graphic and live broadcasting equipment.

Use of Drones: Obtain permission from the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe (CAAZ) and the Ministry of Defence for aerial equipment.
